We are a team of two friends that worked for 3 years to bring you something we are really proud of. No AI was used in the creation of this collection and we think that is special. It kind of marks a transitional moment in time for our culture.

We believe that yoga is a living tradition - deeply rooted in traditional foundations with many evolving branches of newly-embodied wisdom emerging from the genuine practice of devoted practitioners around the world.

We know there is a global community of modern yogis out there and we want to connect with you in our own way. So we set out to make something that could help us do that in a good way.

About the Artist and Co-founder Alexa May

@Shakti Ink Designs

https://shaktiink.com/

Alexa hand-illustrated over 830+ digital art layers in her own unique artistic style with as much quality and reverence for tradition as possible.

Each piece in the Devatar collection is a representation of her deep connection with yoga’s traditional lore and its transformative and inspiring power.

In fact, the artistic journey with each Deva was kind of an alternative form of a devotional yoga practice (bhakti yoga). It takes a lot to sit with these images, learn them, keep them organized, draw them for hours on end.

And yet, the process of learning about and drawing each aspect of this collection was approached with reverence and dedication by Alexa to create a unique and powerful "digital murti" for yogis of a modern age. Her perseverance to get a collection of this size and quality completed is something truly special.

Through her work Alexa has set the foundation for this community to be united by a shared passion for yoga and creativity.

About the Project Lead Dustin James

The lead on the project Dustin James (@ShivaInu108) wanted to create something new for the yoga world that was useful, exciting, and aligned with the new visions of a digital future that are possible with decentralized networks like Solana.

He reached out to his friend and favorite artist Alexa and they began to create the collection in late 2020. Once the art was completed he learned to use the Hashlips art engine to programmatically combine the art layers into the Devatar NFT collection with as much variation and quality as possible.

Once the art was created, the Truffle NFT engine was used to create the NFT minting mechanism and give the utility to this amazing art.
